The Vancouver Island Coast Economic Developers Association (VICEDA) was incorporated under the Societies Act on June 10, 1987. The association serves those organizations and individuals charged with addressing economic development issues and concerns in the Vancouver Island/Coast areas of British Columbia.

The primary purposes of the association are to:
- Promote and enhance the overall economic development of Vancouver Island/Coast
- To raise the awareness regarding the value of economic development to its citizens
- To provide professional development to our members to increase their knowledge and skills in all aspects of economic development
- To provide a common voice through consensus on issues affecting Vancouver Island/Coast
- To undertake projects that will enhance economic development on Vancouver Island/Coast
